Elvis, Octopi, etc.

Happy New Year!  I hope that you all had a nice holiday break. I worked on stuff in the studio but tried to have a little more "play" time during the holidays as well. Anyhow, it's a brand new year and therefore  time to get crack-a-lackin'. What better way to begin a new year than share some of my work that has recently gone live?

Elvis - A Graphic Novel.
By Terry Collins, illustrated by Michele Melcher. Published by Capstone Press. This is pretty cool because it's available everywhere - Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, etc. It's a great read for kids of school grades 4 through 9, or any of you "older" kids who just might happen to be an Elvis fan. You know who you are.

Front and back covers

 A couple of inside spreads.

Just a note - when I first told people last summer that I was working on an Elvis book many thought that meant I was doing the design as well. Sometimes people get the illustrator's job confused with the graphic designer's job. I was only responsible for the illustrations and did not do any of the design or typesetting for the book. The publisher did all of the rest! Hopefully, that answers your questions :)

Angry Octopus T-shirt for Minespire, a start up founded by two great guys, Justin and Howard. They wanted to start a company that does good - while getting people involved in positive social change. You can read more about them and their vision here.

1/2 of every T-shirt purchased benefits Friends of the Earth.

I love how the shirt turned out. The printing and material are really high quality, and it fits great!

There are a lot of projects in the works right now, so I will update again as soon as I can. So until next time, enjoy!
